There have been questions lately about what can be corrected and what can’t be corrected to improve your grade. I encourage you to correct everything. It will help your learning in the long run.
1. Assignments and lab logs: You can correct everything to 100%. Your grade will reflect your corrections. The only exception to this is when a daily assignment is graded strictly for completion. Completion grades can’t be corrected. This does not apply to assignments that are handed in late. You will always lose 20% of the grade according to academy policy.
2. Quizzes: I will let you correct quizzes to 100% and will raise your grade one letter grade (8%) or to a 60%, whichever is higher. The highest grade you can get for a correction is a B. Here are 4 examples:
a) You get an 88% on a quiz and correct it. Thank you and good job but your grade won’t change. (Corrections max out at 84%)
b) You get an 80% on a quiz and correct it. Your grade will improve to an 84%. (Corrections max out at 84%).
c) You get 75% on a quiz and correct it. Your grade will will improve to 83% (Add one letter grade).
d) You get a 50% on a quiz and correct it. Your grade will improve to 60% (60% is higher than just adding 8%.)
3. Tests: If you correct the original test, do the remedial work and take the retest. The retest in your grade. There is no penalty for taking a retest.
4. Cognitive Tutor: This is graded on a rubrik that was given to you in the begining of the year. You need to meet the minimum goals each week. There is no correction.
